Still More Good Things…

We haven’t had a good things post in a while, so I thought it was about time. Sadly, today I don’t have pictures to go with my good things. I just don’t have time to sit down and upload pictures, which feels pathetic, but is true.

1. To start off the post with no pictures, let’s have a picture. I mentioned my paper chain in a previous post, so here it is in all its glory:

If you think I’ve been intentionally vague with what I’ve been counting down to, you’re absolutely right. You’ll have to wait (hint, hint) with me until the chain ends to find out the answer. I’m superstitious! I don’t want to spill the beans before they hatch…and yes, this is my new thing, mixing up cliched expressions. It may be wearing on your nerves already, but I’m not over it yet so bear with me.

2. I’m not sure if you can see all the way at the right side of the mirror in the picture above, but there’s a long frame that holds six pictures – and there are actually pictures in the frame! That frame has been empty for 2 years just waiting for some pictures to go in it!! Which means I finally got pictures developed this weekend and now I have more pictures than I have frames. It’s a wonderful problem to have until I realized that I don’t have wall space for many more frames. I will have to get creative with my hanging.

3. Coming back to the blog after a break (it’s been what…two days?) always feels like such a fresh start. Like I just get to come out with something really exciting and awesome. And I just realized that I’m numbering my list which means I have to have an even number of things to list. To clarify, point 3 is that I’m happy to be blogging right now. I’m also happy that my OCD continues to run my life, but that’s not necessary to add to the list.

4. I am sporting my maid of honor hoodie again these days! Oh, forget it, how about a picture?

The Queen of the Pirates is engaged!! Now, let’s be clear, this is no small-time MOH gig. I am one of THREE honor attendants at this wedding – a step up from my last wedding where I flew solo. Joining me are Lady Shutterbug and her Shroomyness. Rumour has it more of my entourage may be included in the bridal party before this most blessed event happens…so stay tuned. I may have another wedding week feature this fall.

5. I officially have my own office at work. The desk I had before was the front desk, however, I am not the receptionist. Still, I sat at the front desk and constantly had to direct traffic as though I were a receptionist. My boss got fed up with that (not me, my boss) and decided I had to have my own office. So she made it happen. Please admire the fabulousness that is my new office:

Just wanted you to have proof I had a door and everything. Yes, that black thing is a refrigerator.

And the desk keeps going…

And going…

So how’s that for space? But wait…

Yes, I even have space above the cabinets!

I could not be more excited. I have so many plans for decorating you would not believe. Just you wait for the after pictures!

6. My christmas tree is still up. Not the big one that sits in the family room, my cute little pink one. Yup. It comes down during the Superbowl. It’s tradition.

7. I got this in the mail on Monday:

Yes, that says Perez, as in Perez Hilton. I know, I am the only one who is excited that I get fan mail from Perez Hilton, but still, it was pretty awesome to pull that out of the mailbox.

8. I got another set of stationary this week bringing my total to a ridiculous number. Which means I have a lot of letter writing to do. Which means if you like mail and pretty stationary I would love to get your address so I can use some of my pretty stationary to send you mail. If we’re not friends in “real-life” and you don’t have contact info for me, just leave a comment on this post and I’ll e-mail you so you can e-mail me back with your address. Deal?

9. I am steadily losing 2 pounds a week (steadily meaning this has happened two weeks in a row) and exerting very little effort to actually make that happen. I am very happy, and know that if I keep this up I will hit my target weight at the end of July. I’m so proud of myself for accomplishing this in a healthy way.

10. My mother bought a Cricut for us (scrapbooking custom die-cut cutting machine).

We set it up tonight and were so excited to use it. As our test piece we decided to have it cut out a tree for us. So we watched eagerly while the machine made its awkward little cutting motion, then we released the paper and…it said “Feliz Navidad.” We are still laughing. Clearly we’ll need a little more practice with it before we’re producing totally awesome die-cuts.

Okay, so I have to stop myself since it’s past my bedtime. I should probably talk about how I have no pictures to share more often because it turned out that I had more pictures than I thought. Interesting how that one worked out…and yes, I know I could have edited my post but it’s funnier this way, right?

I am soooooooooo jealous you have a cricut ! I am thinking of biting the bullet and purchasing one for myself and the girls. (they think that would be fabulous) I want to purchase one of those wall word things and keep weighing the cost versus the machine…
