Good Things in the Snow

To begin, the promised picture of the Emperor Emeritus as a tiny child:

I know that a picture of a picture does not produce a good picture, but I loathe the scanner and couldn’t bring myself to use it. I have to do it eventually but…not yet.

I don’t know what my favorite thing about that picture is. Probably the hat.

Yesterday I found myself spending way too much money on new shoes. What I really needed were some flats that didn’t hurt my feet and a sensible pair of black heels to replace the pair I’ve worn out.

Sensible is such a subjective term, isn’t it?

And now when I put these on I will hear “Throwing on my Louboutins,” by JLo. Not that they are Louboutins – that’s just what comes to mind. Who knows where thoughts come from?

Anyway, I also needed the flats. I found the black ones first and then remembered there was no need for the flats to be sensible since they are by nature sensible as they are, well, flat.

They were in my signature color! How could I resist?

Finally, here’s a peek at the valentines I had to send out late because the mail failed last week

I used our new cricut and loved every second of it. This time I resisted the urge to glitter and I’m quite pleased with the results.

One of these went to my swap buddy. I’m hoping she’ll post pictures of the rest of her swap goodies when she gets them.

Anyway, I know I only sent a few valentines out this year because I’m lazy (bottom line) – but now that they’re posted here you can pretend like you got one as well. Happy Valentine’s Day!

And now, I’m throwing on my (non) Louboutins.

Now JLo is firmly rooted in my head, thankssomuch.

And on this day when not much is going well and I have twenty thousand things I need to be doing, I’m suddenly of the impression that shoe shopping would solve all my problems. Swing by after church and we’ll go to Savannah?
