Week of Wardrobe Wednesdays

I am just pleased as punch to introduce one of my new weekly features! This isn’t even something I can take credit for – all of that goes to Jecca – whom I have fondly nicknamed Sistahair because she’s Ms. Fiercehair’s … sister (see what I did there? I’m SO clever sometimes) and her own hair is pretty darn fierce too.

Anyway, Sistahair introduced the idea of the Week of Wardrobe post on her blog. Fiercehair adopted it and urged me to take on the challenge as well. I agreed.

We begin on

Thursday

When we find our heroine at work, amped to start the newest project she’s been given the opportunity to take on:

Please admire the heels. I mean, really. Sadly, modest though this outfit appears, there’s a slit in the back of that skirt I keep meaning to close up. Just one more thing on my to-do list. (ruffled cardigan, purpley/cobalt blouse with flutter sleeves, b/w circle pendant, pencil skirt, tights, stunna heels, CTR ring, headband)

And then we were all thanking God it was…

Friday

And I was wishing I had sweeter self-photographing skills. I’m deliberately looking at my phone to keep from making a dumb face at myself in the mirror. Yap. I rolled in with my hair totally a wreck and flattened it in my office with the hair straightener that only works when it feels like working. (darling buckle flats you can’t even see under all that denim, trouser-cut jeans with all that denim , rusty ruched blouse)

I was up early on Saturday rockin my MOH hoodie while the Future Mrs. Bruce Wayne tried on wedding gowns.

I’m loving those bright sneaker-jane shoes these days. They’re my pre-work shoe shoes lately. (“Sneaker-janes” , Dark wash boot cut jeans, classic white-T, Limited Edition Domestic Empress Couture MOH hoodie)

I tried on Bridesmaid dresses too. This is the one we didn’t pick:

(GI Bridesmaid Gown – David’s Bridal, heather grey bolero – mine)

And then Saturday night I went out with the girls for dessert, to plan our NC getaway weekend:

(kimono cut sweater , Black Tank Top, Blue Beads, not pictured – bootcut jeans)

My favorite day of the week is Sunday, except by now my cold had escalated to full blown bubonic plague. This is what I call a “total lack of effort” outfit.

Yes, that’s the same black tank top from the night before.  (Bubble Sleeve Green blouse. Not pictured – black tulip skirt)

Like I said, the plague had hit. I lasted an hour at church before I had to admit defeat.

(Shameful Ed Hardy t-shirt I only keep because it was free, Duvet – Pottery Barn Teen, Lack platform bed – Ikea. Not pictured – VS Pink boyfriend sweatpants)

Thankfully, Monday is a new day.

It was a special day. A little black dress is always appropriate for special days. (LBD, tights, Wowthosearepink flats , Demure pink scarf )

And then because I was feeling lazy I opted to change before FHE. Not that wearing an LBD is hard work, I was just still feeling like plague. Which is why I ended up with a picture that shows off my scale, plunger, trashcan, shopping bag, and cotton balls that have fallen out of the cabinet. Waldo might be in this picture too, who even knows? I was not at my finest moment.

(We get it, you’re Irish “sneaker-janes”, trouser cut jeans, Not just a t-shirt, Ghastly pallor cheeks – the Bubonic Plague for Domestic Empress Denim)

If you thought Sunday was bad…this week gets worse.

On Tuesday everything fell apart. I was feeling tons better, but by golly, my head was not in the game.

(Seriously those are my bare feet – I may really just be white trash , Bootcut Wool Trousers , Purple ruched boatneck top, Tiffany’s necklace no one but me has worn since Legally Blonde the movie came out)

Thankfully, today was Wednesday which means this week can come to a close. Not so thankfully I was up way too late and my brain this morning was not turned on. You can’t really tell in this picture what I did wrong, but see if you can catch it in the description. I’m almost too ashamed to post it, but really, I think I played it off well enough.

(navy blue wool trousers , grey kimono top, black tank top, total lack of shame, black buckle flats I threw on to make it look like I mismatched my outfit on purpose)

So Week 1 was a learning experience. I’m going to try and get more creative with the self timer on my real camera for next week so the pictures aren’t all of me in my office/bathroom mirror. But so…anyway, be sure to check out the other WoW entries for this week. I hope to persuade Sistahair and Fiercehair to change their posting day to Wednesday because the alliteration is amazingly awesome.

hahaha… I love it! And I’m jealous of all your fancy-yet-unfussy shirts. If I had shirts like that, dressing for class would be soooo much easier each morning.

    Note to self: Buy shirts.

    Also… holla at the not just a t-shirt. :)
